The Dr. Beverly Divers White Foundation Hosts Its
Inaugural Scholarship Winners & Reception

July 21, 2017–The Dr. Beverly Divers White Foundation (BDWF) will host its Inaugural Scholarship Winners & Reception on Saturday August 5th from 2:00p - 3:00p at the Little Rock Central High Museum (2120 W. Daisy Gatson Bates Drive).

According to Board Chair, Samuel D. White, Jr., ”We are honored and excited to continue the dream of my mom by helping students pursue secondary education. We believe these students will influence and impact the communities they come from and beyond.”

This year’s inaugural scholarship recipients are: Nicole Barnes (Parkview Arts and Sciences Magnet High School; matriculating to Jackson State University), Joi Hood (Parkview Arts and Sciences Magnet High School; matriculating to University of Memphis), and Jaelyn Juniel (Hall High School; matriculating to University of Arkansas). To be considered for the BDWF scholarship, applicants had to complete the application and submit transcripts, 2 letters of recommendation and an essay.

The Dr. Beverly Divers White Foundation was created in July 2016 to honor the memory of Arkansas native, local, national and internationally renowned educator, Dr. Beverly Divers White. It was founded on the belief that every child should be able to have and pursue their dream regardless of their economic or social situations.
